kartell 4801 armchair, in/outdoor by joe colombo
Exploring the versatility of new materials and the possibilities of shapes and function, Kartell marries Italian design with innovation to communicate its values in tangible form. A strong commitment to ‘image development' has brought Kartell worldwide recognition and relationships with Philippe Starck, Ron Arad, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, Antonio Citterio, Michele De Lucchi, Piero Lissoni and Patricia Urquiola and many more have resulted in numerous awards including the Compasso d'Oro for Philippe Starck's Louis Ghost chair and Bubble Club sofa.
Kartell pays homage for the first time to one of the most iconic pieces in its museum with its reedition of the 4801 armchair designed by Joe Colombo, an authentic symbol of design in the '60s, and now much sought-after in auctions of modern historical pieces. Well-known also for being the only piece produced by Kartell made entirely of wood, that same product can be made using today's industrial technology to reproduce the curving sinuous lines of the piece. Available in transparent or matt white or matt black.
